Inflexible laws of creativity

Creativity is messy and chaotic.

But it can’t only be messy and chaotic. If it were, nothing would ever come of it.

Some philosophers say there’s no such thing as chaos. It’s all a question of scale, right? If you could see the entire system, you’d see just how ordered it really is.

I’m not so sure.

Either way, I know the structure that underlies creativity. The chaotic surface hides an orderly core.

Done poorly, this structure throttles creativity.

Done well, it nurtures it.

The Psident System has three tines, supported by a fourth underlying principle. They all feed into each other – bolstering one strengthens the other in interesting and predictable ways.

All very interesting, but what does this mean?

It means creativity is a system.

A skill.

Which means you can learn to do it even better.

All our problems come from a lack of creativity. All of them. Because everything we face has a suite of solutions, some of which will be obvious in retrospect.

Greater health, happiness, wealth, success, love and reputation – they all might be just one good idea away from you.

You know this already. I don’t need to sell you on the power of innovation.

So what are you doing to sharpen your creative blade?
