Is every person a cat?

Some folks – usually women, but sometimes men – want to demonise you.

They say that men don’t deserve compassion, respect or dignity. After all, most CEOs are men – and so are most violent criminals. Based on that, what could they possibly complain about?

Yeah, okay. I’m sure you can spot the logical fallacy at play here. If you can’t, let me ask you this:

Is every cat a mammal? Yes. Is every mammal a cat? Obviously not.

Most guys walking around right now are good, decent, hard-working, respectful, poor or middle-class blokes. Even if most CEOs are men, most men aren’t CEOs. It’s the same with criminals – they make up a minority.

But some women don’t care about logic, common sense or even seeing what’s in front of them. They’re angry at men and this feels like a good justification for it.

And that’s fine. If you’re like a typical guy – so not a criminal and not a CEO – then you’re also probably unfazed by the deranged accusations of pathetic losers.

But that doesn’t hold up when this person becomes your boss. Or the judge deciding who gets custody. Or the friend you mistakenly turn to during a moment of crisis.

You generally don’t need people to like you or the world to be fair.

There are exceptions, though.

Sometimes, the casual indifference to your struggles cuts deeper.

Sometimes, you can’t just grin, bear it and get on with your work.

When that happens, it helps to have someone in your corner.

Friend and family? Absolutely. But you might also want a professional – someone who can give you impartial perspectives.

My coaching program is more than just that. It’s not some empty gabfest – no, I give you the skills needed to dig deep, dissolve problems, see more clearly and chase your goals.

But, often, just being able to talk things through is enough.

It’s not therapy. It’s training your mind to be stronger. But, often, it can be as useful as what therapists say therapy is.
