Google’s recent AI fiasco has tanked their stock price.
I’m not happy about that.
Oh, sure, their new AI tool is both stupid and evil – deliberately designed to be a ridiculous parody of a DEI-happy monstrosity. It’s a racist, sexist attempt to rewrite history, so add hypocritical to the list.
It’s truly awful.
But it shouldn’t have cratered their stock price.
Because their shares should already be worthless.
What is Google’s main product? A search engine, for bringing people information they need. Except it doesn’t work as it used to, partly on purpose. They don’t bring you information, they distort it.
Do people really want to be lied to?
Wait, don’t answer that.
For many folks, they absolutely do. That’s why they called the Twitterfiles a nothingburger – because they’re fine with widespread, government-backed lies. They see no big deal in that.
It’s sad, really.
Why choose comforting lies when the blazing, glorious Truth is right there? Because the Truth’s uncomfortable? Goodness, that’s pathetic.
Oh well.
That just means every movement you make closer to the Truth gives you an edge on them.
Don’t be evil.
That used to be Google’s motto.
They abandoned that a long time ago.
That’s fine – we’re happy to resist evil, even if a clumsy, idiotic tech giant wants to lash themselves to evil’s wagon.
Resisting evil isn’t just about doing Good.
It’s about doing better, too.
