It’d be an awful place to live – but, in a very real way, that’s a better world than this one.
No, not because it would make us humble.
No, not because it would unite us against this common threat.
Maybe those things would happen. Maybe not.
Either way, things would be better.

This isn’t a conspiracy thing – like, I’m not saying Martians are responsible for cancer or something.
No, this is something everyone agrees is happening.
It’s awful, but fighting these monsters isn’t a priority for society.
Fuck society – if I have to, I’ll fight it myself. Poorly, maybe, but as best I can.
