Feel like you need a holiday?
Or at least to spend a week sleeping?
I get it – I get that way sometimes.
It’s probably not from working too much, though.
Nor is it likely from a lack of sleep.
I don’t know, I’m not a doctor. It could be those things or something medical.
But from working with folks, it’s usually not from doing too much – it’s from doing the wrong thing.
Meaningful work energises you, even if it’s challenging.
Pointless work drains you, even if it’s easy.
You don’t need me to tell you this. You’ve probably had moments in your life where you could dig deep, push through and get things done. Those moments make you feel alive, even when you’re working insane hours.
If only all our lives could be like that.
