Never skip heart day

Everyday is a holiday for gym enthusiasts:

Arm Day, Back Day, Leg Day, Chest Day…

It’s a great concept. Train part of you to the point of failure. Then, as it recovers and grows stronger, train something else.

Don’t limit that to the physical.

Train your character, too.

Train your heart to failure.

Metaphorically. Obviously.

But if you don’t find the limits of your heart, your mind and your strength, the world will. It will show you those limits all too cleanly.

Many men flinch when I speak of fighting Evil. It sounds violent and risky. It doesn’t have to be.

And it’s less violent and risky than sitting down, hiding and hoping the wicked don’t notice you. Evil schemes are best defeated in their conception. Waiting until some dark tyrant sits on the throne is a dangerous play.

If you train your body, you should train your soul.

And you train your soul the same way: start small, then steadily build up.

It also means training properly. Some folks think that fighting Evil means flinging memes at demons. Unlikely. Do something that makes a difference.

And while you’re doing that, sharpen your weapons. Learn. Advance your mind and develop your senses.

Seeing Evil for what it is helps you fight it.

And fighting it helps your heart grow stronger.

Metaphorically. And maybe literally too.
