The Power of Parables

Jesus comes into the world and changes it forever.

He performs miracles – feeding the hungry, healing the sick, raising the dead.

And He teaches.

He teaches a lot.

The stories He tells are like miracles in their own way, each feeding, healing and saving. And in a way, the parables are better. Each miracle saved, at most, thousands of people before Him, yet each parable has saved millions across history and cultures.

I sometimes wonder if the point of the miracles were to establish His credibility, so we’d listen when He speaks.

Anyway, there’s a point to this.

Jesus says that we can do what He does. The clearest language for this might be in Matthew 21 – that mountains will move if you tell them to, with enough faith.

The obvious interpretation is that you, too, can feed hordes with scraps and heal the unhealable.

But maybe you, too, can tell stories that save millions.

I won’t promote my Conversational Hypnosis & Future Crafting workshop too hard here. It’s Christmas Eve. Today’s a day for thinking about stories and miracles.

But I will promote it a little bit by telling you to follow this link:
