Men and women think differently.
Those differences entice and infuriate us.
A Beautiful, feminine woman – to a man – is a confusing storm of emotion and fleeting fancies. Her mood and preferences can change from moment to moment, defying male logic but adhering to a deeper Truth. That Truth is intoxicating and something men struggle to reach on their own.
A Good, masculine man – to a woman – is frustratingly cold, goofy, stubborn and distant. He might not always meet her mood or energy, but his resilience and consistency soothe her. This soothing feeling of safety is intoxicating and something women struggle to reach on their own.
This is all wonderful stuff.
So is water and oil, but if you put water in your car’s engine it’ll junk it real fast.
Generally, there are two types of Good men. There are those who show up to do an honest day’s work for a fair amount of pay. They enjoy the routine and they like feeling useful.
Blessed are these men – and blessed is their society. Things work smoothly with enough of them around.
Other Good men gaze over the horizon. They follow JFK’s advice and ask “why not?” They balance Truth, tradition and progress as they reshape society to be better.
Blessed are these men – and blessed is their society. Each generation tends to live better than the last.
Then there are women.
They have a lot of Good intentions and a lot of strong opinions on how society should run.
At best, those opinions tend to come from a place of Goodness, but not Truth. They talk about how nice society could be, if you rewrote the laws of reality. At worst, they’re simply following their own untamed emotions.
“Equality! No more work! Infinite money for all! Let’s just burn it all down and start again!”
Those feel nice, but there’s no path to them. You can’t build a society that works like this.
Civilisation needs grounding in Truth first. Only then can it aspire to Goodness, then Beauty.
The funny thing is Truth creates room for people to pursue their emotions. If you go solely by what you feel, though, it crowds out Truth.
This explains all the major problems facing the West.
“I feel like I’m a different sex, so I am.”
“DEI feels like it’s fair, so it’s a great idea.”
“Some demographics make me so angry, so they must be bad people.”
“I’d really like to get money for nothing, so I deserve it.”
Yikes.
It’s time to rebel against this and recontain emotions.
Not suppress them, but to stop using them to make all our decisions.
Bring back Truth, pursue Goodness and nurture Beauty. The rest will sort itself out.
How, though?
This is all big picture and abstract – how can you do this in your life?
As always, my first recommendation is to be a better Christian.
The second?
It’s right here:
