Anxiety is a superpower

Embarrassing story time:

A while ago – but not as long ago as I’d like – I had to talk to this woman.

I forget the details. She was the point of contact for something, like she was coordinating some group activity or something.

So I not only had a reason to talk to her, she wanted me to talk to her.

Even so, I approached her while she was by herself…

… froze…

… then, after about ten seconds or so, I walked away, went back to my room and played video games for a few hours. I don’t even know if she noticed I was there. I hope not.

So, yeah, I know what it’s like to have anxiety. I know how invasive and insidious it can be – how it can leap out of nowhere when it wants to.

I know what it’s like.

Take two things from this dive into my awkward past:

One, my techniques work. It’s one thing to hear from someone who was born into confidence and charisma. I had to learn to overcome my anxiety, which means you can learn how as well.

Two, I’m not being flippant, cheeky or disrespectful when I call anxiety a superpower.

It really is.

But it’s the sort of superpower that’s difficult to control. It’s less Superman and more the Hulk.

That’s good news! It’s easier to learn to control raw, primal, unfiltered power than to create it.

The same things that caused my anxiety are also what allow me to write so much. It’s how I never run out of ideas and can create such a wide range of products, services and useful little things for you.

It also lets me be charming, in my own way.

As with everything, the problem isn’t a problem. The problem is a resource in disguise. It’s the answer to itself – and a whole lot more besides.

So maybe instead of fighting your anxiety, you’d be better off using it.

That’s what The Virtus Path is all about. Learn how to “walk” it and you’ll have a way of quickly and easily harnessing the power of your fear, uncertainty and overactive imagination.
