Plenty of folks see anger and happiness as opposites.
Or, if not opposites, at least on opposite teams.
Happiness is good and anger is bad.
… right?
Not so. Anger is a dangerous thing to work with – one that can cause obvious harm if mishandled.
So’s plutonium and maybe that’s exactly what you need.
Part of The Virtus Path is using the enormous energy of your anger to defuse your anxiety. If that sounds risky, it’s why I built in so many safety features into that part of the exercise.
I recommend you respect those safety features because, with them, you can use anger as a reagent to transform your state from anxious to calm and focused.
Yes, I said reagent in that last sentence. Other folks might have used catalyst in its place, but that’s not strictly right. A catalyst facilitates a reaction without participating in it. A reagent facilitates a reaction and is consumed in the process.
Anger might be one of the ingredients, but it doesn’t linger. It won’t leave you any angrier – if anything, it’ll do the opposite.
That’s assuming you follow the safety procedures, that is.
But, hey, that’s true of most things.
If you’re mature enough to follow instructions to the letter, knowing that it’ll liberate you from something that’s been holding you back for so long, then begin walking the Path here:
