Trusting others without being gullible

Sometimes, anxiety comes from a craving for safety.

It’s dangerous to trust other people sometimes. If they take advantage of that, they can hurt you in deep and profound ways.

I’ve been there. I know how bad it is to trust the wrong person.

But I have to ask the obvious question here:

How safe is your approach?

If your strategy is to regard people and opportunities with fear, then that’s even more dangerous. It’s just slower and more subtle in how it strangles the vitality from you.

What you need is an approach where you can trust others without being gullible about it.

That’s why safety is so core to The Virtus Path.

After all, it’s safer to know how to take care of yourself than to try to avoid all danger. In life, a conservative approach is the riskiest one. You need to know how to handle yourself.

Anything else is dangerous.

The end of The Virtus Path is a state of mind that includes a concern for safety. That includes your emotional and financial safety, not just the physical variety.

It doesn’t just contain that. It also includes deep focus and comfort.

But it’s almost as if striking a balance is the best way forward here. Taking chances on people while protecting yourself is the only winning strategy here. Everything else is a slow death.
